- Trip leader: Drew Dabbs
- When: Spring Break 2012 (March 10 – March 17)
- Where: New Life Children’s Home in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. (here it is on Google maps!)
- What: We’ll be helping out the orphanage with any needs that they have, as well as ministering to those in the area. Possibilities include:
- Light construction
- Soccer camp
- Hanging out with orphans
- Revival services
- Estimated Cost: $1200. This is the most out-of-pocket expense you will have to pay. It covers: 1 plane ticket (round trip, unless you decide to stay), 7 nights at the orphanage, and all your food and everything else you need for that week.
- Deadlines: The first payment of $900 is due January 18. This will purchase your plane ticket.
- How in the world can I pay for this?
- Apply for a missions scholarship from Morrison Heights.
- If you’re a member of a Southern Baptist Church, you can apply for a missions scholarship from the MS Baptist Convention.
- MHBC Mission Trip fundraisers. If you volunteer, you can make money to put towards a mission trip.
- Write support letters to friends and family. Most people love an opportunity to help send college students to do missions.
- Other things you will need:
- A passport. Get this as soon as you can.
- Shots/Medicine: Check with your doctor. The CDC recommends being up on your routine vaccinations, as well as the Hepatitis A/B shots. Anti-malarial pills are often recommended as well.

I will update this with additional information as I know more!
